USFS History Basic Bibliography
In its over one hundred-year history, the Forest Service has faced a multitude
of resource management issues, from preventing a "timber famine" to preserving
watersheds to protecting spotted owl habitats. The books listed below provide
general information on the history of these and other Forest Service topics.
This is not meant to be a comprehensive bibliography, but a list of resources
accessible in most larger university and government documents libraries.
