Teachers have begun to share with FHS the results of classroom use of the If Trees Could Talk Curriculum.
One of the first projects to come to our attention is an excellent PowerPoint presentation* created in a high school agroecology class. Students read the essay in Module 2 "From Farm to Forest and Back Again" about environmental changes to the area around Petersham, Massachusetts and used the exercises to analyze population changes at different points in time. They learned how a succession of people used the natural resources available to them. Students could present their findings in a number of different ways, including an audiovisual presentation.
* Created by Leah Kent, student in the AgroEcology class of Cathy Hughes, Massanutten Governor's School, March 2006.
