From 800 to 1000 people are expected to attend the first national town meeting of forestry since 1946 at the Statler Hotel in Washington in October. Agenda for the Congress was set up in June by representative leaders in the filed of renewable natural resources who met at Higgins Lake, Michigan, to draft a revised Program for American Forestry. Following the Congress where the Higgins Lake recommendations will be considered, the Board of Directors of the AFA will adopt a revised Program for Forestry. This program will be submitted to the Association's membership for referendum.
