Image ID: FHS1208
Image Date:  [no date]
Image Title:  [Clearcut on a tree farm in Eugene, Oregon.]
Image Caption:  This photograph illustrates how modern logging helps perpetuate forests even though trees are cut. Note how clean the logged open stretch is. It contains a minimum of fuel to feed disastrous forest fires. The numerous standing trees in the forest will provide seeds which will start thousands of new trees growing where old ones have been cut. This photograph was taken on the operations of the Snellstrom Lbr. Co., Eugene, Oregon, which operates one of the nation's outstanding tree farms.
