FHS1226th

Image ID: FHS1226
Image Date: 1947
Image Title: Then and Now. (Second of a two-picture series.)
Image Caption: In 1947, just nineteen years after original picture [see image #FHS1225] was made, this is how the logged off area looked. Under wise management of the Crown Zellerbach Company, this area today supports a thick stand of second growth Douglas fir. The trees, all natural reproduction, will yield many crops of pulpwood and sawlogs. This forest is part of the 60,000-acre Crown Zellerbach Columbia Country Tree Farm. (Crown-Zellerbach-AFPI photo.)
