Image ID:  FHS1232
Image Date:  [no date]
Image Title:  This is Forestry -- Douglas fir block cutting.
Image Caption:  Because little Douglas firs will not grow well in the shade of larger trees it is good forestry in Western Washington and Oregon's Douglas fir region to clear-cut the forest in blocks. The old-growth trees in nearby blocks are left to provide the seed to restore forest growth on harvested lands.
