Image Caption: Harvest Pattern -- Seed trees on ridge, delayed setting below illustrate how modern timber harvesting methods in Douglas fir region are planned to leave plentiful seed sources to reforest the land. Lower center, yarding spar tree, engine platform gouged out of steep mountainside. From base of this tree a "swing" engine (above, right, not shown in picture) hauling from base of own spar tree brings the legs up to the landing for loading on trailer-trucks for the ride to the mill.
