Taft in honor of statehood for New Mexico or Arizona. Could also be Theodore Roosevelt if slightly earlier. Forest Service employees on horseback serving as Presidential guards. Police and military also present. Large building at left is labelled "The Leland."]

[This image is from a collection of 52 black-and-white photographs from forester Charles C. Hall's career with the U.S. Forest Service, 1906-1933, during which time he served as supervisor of the Hell Gate, Big Hole, Deerlodge, Alamo, Carson, Tonto, and Santiam National Forests in Montana, New Mexico, Arizona, and Oregon. The Forest History Society has electronic copies only; donor maintains originals.]
