Image Caption:  Fallers using modern power saw to make undercut. The sawed out portion will be chipped out and the "falling" cut made from opposite side of tree. The tree will fall in direct line with the carefully made undercut. The undercut is made and carefully directioned so tree will fall where it does least damage to surrounding timber and also is easiest to haul out of area to the landing.
