| Image ID: Views10 Image Date: Mar. 1932 Image Title: Mountain Streams Image Caption: [Caption 1:] MOUNTAIN STREAMS--are the highways and byways through which water is carried from snow-clad peaks to valleys: from wilderness areas to meet civilization's needs. But forested slopes and timber-fringed lakes--lying between peaks and valleys--act as natural reservoirs; absorbing, storing and holding that water back, so that the streams may release it when it is most needed. Peaks, slopes, lakes and streams afford, too, wonderful opportunities. For here health and sport--camping, fishing, hunting: [sic] hiking or riding over wilderness trails--are yours, if you wish them. Lake Rabun, Nantahala National Forest, Georgia.
